Puddleducks Nursery is registered charity
CIO Charity Number - 1200136
Our aim is to…
provide children with a safe and enjoyable play and learning experience to fully prepare them for starting school. We welcome children between the ages of 18 months through to the age that they are due to start school. To enable us to fully meet the needs of all children, the children are divided into two groups by age. Our ‘Ducklings’ group cares for children aged 18 months to rising 3 years. Our ‘Ducks’ group cares for children who are rising 3 to rising 5 years old. Our routine and learning environments provide lots of opportunities for child-initiated play, and structured group activities, tailored to the needs of the children in the Ducks or Ducklings groups. We value the importance of play and ensure that all our resources and play opportunities are meaningful, hands-on and most importantly lots of fun. We follow the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
We are very fortunate to rent our wonderfully spacious premises from the local branch of the Royal British Legion, for our sole use.
Our indoor spaces comprise of a large and bright main hall for our Ducks children (x 25 children with 5 staff), and a second smaller classroom for our Ducklings group children (x7 children with 2 staff).
We have 2 separate outside play areas for each group, and the children play outside daily come rain or shine!
We have a well-equipped modern kitchen, refurbished toilets with sensor taps for independent handwashing, and separate disabled/staff toilet facilities and 2 nappy changing areas.
We also have an office, cloak room areas for children’s coats, plenty of storage space and a cosy staff room for the staff to take their well-deserved lunchbreak
Outdoor play is highly valued and prioritised as an integral part of the exciting educational programme at Puddleducks Nursery.
